Like the classic links courses of Scotland, this 900-acre golf resort sits on a rolling, wind-swept prairie near the shore of a Texas lake. The $45 million hotel, with its slate roofs, stone walls, and elaborate chimneys, stands as the medieval manor house, perched atop the mounded earthworks, which recall ancient fortifications. Over 50,000 square feet of convention and meeting space is included in the 281,000 square foot facility. An 18,000 square foot clubhouse serves the two championship golf courses that wind their way around the hotel and along the lakeshore. Surrounding the 350-room hotel are other amenities including a beach, resort-style swimming pool, putting course, golf academy, tennis courts, and 100 Cotswold-inspired cottages dispersed in village clusters throughout the golf courses. Future development on the property is to include an additional luxury boutique hotel, a marina, stables, a water park, several lakeside restaurants, retail shopping, office space, a health club, a corporate retreat center, 50 additional cottages, 150 additional hotel guestrooms, and another 15,000 square feet of meeting space.
