With 95,000 square feet of exhibit space, 78,000 square feet of meeting space including a 30,000 square foot ballroom, and 1,348 guestrooms and suites, this is the largest convention hotel in the Washington, D.C. area.  The hotel is located on 16 acres of lushly landscaped grounds near the National Zoo and National Cathedral.  This renovation and expansion project included over of 1,000,000 square feet of modification.  New construction included a new entrance lobby & porte cochere, parking structure, meeting rooms, ballrooms, and exhibit rooms, an up-scale lounge and restaurant.  The renovation of the historic 1928 Wardman Tower included exterior facade restoration, upgraded HVAC system, and upgraded finishes throughout both the guestrooms and public areas.  This $100 million renovation not only restored and preserved a building of historic significance, but also contributed to increased operational efficiency and guest capacity.
