Cox Convention Center RENOVATION & Expansion
Oklahoma city, oklahoma
As one of the Metropolitan Area Projects, the $35 million renovation and expansion of the 1,000,000 square foot Myriad is a critical part of the revitalization of downtown Oklahoma City. The 105,000 square feet of new construction included entirely new facades and entrances, a curved grand staircase, a 25,000 square foot grand ballroom, 21 meeting rooms totaling 30,000 square feet, and a sky bridge to a new convention hotel. A total of 360,000 square feet of improvements include upgraded finishes, audio/video systems, lighting, mechanical & electrical systems, catering facilities, and technology enhancements throughout the facility. Among the renovated areas, the 100,000 square foot exhibit hall enjoys improved walls, flooring, operable partitions, lighting, and communications infrastructure. Construction was phased to allow continuous use of the facility, and particular attention was given to the design of the support areas in order to enable the staging of multiple concurrent events.
